Ted Nussbaum, Kathy's husband, is the business manager for Gifts of Hope, the family-run business that sells the book Preparing the Children. He has spent his entire career working with children as an elementary teacher and counselor. He loves teaching children to read, to get excited about learning, and to get along with others. In his spare time he enjoys working with wood or spending the day on the water, catching fish or showing friends around.

Krista Nussbaum, Kathy's daughter, works in Oregon as an accountant. She enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and climbing mountains.

Tyler Nussbaum, Kathy's son, works at Epic. Whenever he gets the chance, he can be found swing dancing, hiking, or kayaking.
